Nicole Rothschild

Founding Principal, CEO and CFO

Nicole oversees all managerial and financial aspects of the firm. In addition, Nicole is the Managing Partner of her Family Office and its MEIT Realty business, which owns and operates multi-family, office and retail property. Prior to joining MEIT Realty in 1995, Nicole worked as a staff accountant at Ernst & Young’s Kenneth Leventhal real estate group, focusing on forensic accounting related to the failures of mortgage backed securities-focused hedge funds. Nicole graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Economics from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Leonard DiPietra

Founding Principal and Portfolio Manager

Leonard is an experienced trader and manages the Petra Credit Fund I, LP portfolio. In addition, he has run the firm’s global macro strategy since 2005. From 1996 to 2002, Lenny traded listed and OTC equities using an arbitrage strategy, developed by him as a Prime Customer at Hold Brothers. Prior to joining Hold Brothers, Lenny was an assistant trader at Ladenburg Thalmann from 1994 to 1995. From 1992-1994, Lenny was an accounting associate with EisnerAmper LLP involved in the compilation of financial statements for investment partnerships and real estate entities. He began his financial career in 1991 as an order clerk at Hampshire Securities, while attending New York University’s Stern School of Business at night. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from NYU in 1995.

Joshua D. Rand

Founding Principal, COO, Head of Business Development/IR

Joshua oversees all day-to-day operations of the firm, including vendor management, business development, strategic partnerships and all external communications. Previously he was Co-Founder and Managing Partner of DJRN LLC, a firm dedicated to the monetization of distressed real estate debt. From 2004-2008, Joshua was the Co-Founder and CEO of Sapotek Inc., a provider of cloud-based computing solutions, where he managed operations and oversaw the business development, financing, revenue growth and management of a multi-national corporation. Prior to Sapotek, Joshua practiced law at Shearman & Sterling LP, where he specialized in cross-border debt and equity transactions, and was an Economic Advisor to the NYC Comptroller. He graduated with a BA in Public Policy from Brown University, a M.Sc. (Econ) Public Policy from the London School of Economics and a JD from the Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review.

Peter Huitsing

Chief Technology Officer

Peter develops and manages all Petra technology, including the artificial intelligence-based loan selection and purchasing system utilized by Petra Credit Fund I, LP. Prior to Petra, he was Senior Software Engineer at Endgame, Inc., a high-growth computer security software company, where he wrote software to analyze large data sets. After being selected for the prestigious Cyber Corps scholarship program in 2004, Peter helped protect the United States through his work at the National Security Agency, where he received numerous individual and team awards. At NSA, his work included intelligence collection, data analysis, team management, and support of international partnerships. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a M.Sc. in Computer Science.
